Opaque

By Frederik Drost

Opaque is a watch term that refers to a watch face or caseback that does not allow light to pass through. It is usually achieved by using a material or coating that blocks the transmission and reflection of light. The result is a completely dark, blackened or even metallic look that gives the watch a unique and attractive aesthetic. Opaque can also refer to a watch dial or case that has been intentionally made to be non-transparent.
