Watch Winder

By Frederik Drost

A watch winder is a device used to keep automatic watches running when not in use. It is designed to mimic the motion of the wearer’s wrist, winding the mainspring of the watch movement. Watch winders are typically powered by batteries or an AC adapter and can be set to a specific revolutions per day (RPD) to best suit the watch’s movement. Watch winders are used by watch owners to keep their timepieces running while they are not being worn, thus ensuring accurate timekeeping when they are next used.
