Horology

By Frederik Drost

Horology is the study and measurement of time, and the making of timepieces, such as clocks and watches. Horology is an ancient science, having been practiced since the first timepiece was created. Modern horology includes the study of the movement of time, the precision of timekeeping devices, and the art and science of creating clocks and watches. Horology requires a knowledge of mathematics, engineering, physics, and materials science.
