Mechanical Movement

By Frederik Drost

Mechanical Movement is a type of watch movement that uses a complex mechanism of gears, springs, and other components to keep time. Unlike quartz watches, which use a battery to power a quartz crystal to keep time, mechanical watches have no battery, and instead rely on the movement of the wearer’s arm to wind the mainspring, which powers the timekeeping. Mechanical movements are known for their accuracy and reliability, and are often found in luxury watches.
