Rehaut

By Frederik Drost

Rehaut (also known as a “flange”) is a thin raised portion of the inner edge of a watch case. It usually serves as a decorative border and can be engraved with the watch’s serial number or other information. It is usually made of metal and can be found on the inside of the case back, between the crystal and the bezel. It is an important part of a watch’s construction and helps to protect the watch movement from dust and moisture.
