Tourbillon

By Frederik Drost

A tourbillon is a watch complication that is designed to increase the accuracy of a watch by counteracting the effects of gravity. The tourbillon works by housing the balance wheel and escapement in a rotating cage, allowing it to rotate and compensate for the errors caused by gravity when the watch is in different positions. This complication is highly prized due to its complexity and beauty, and is often featured only in luxury watches.
